How to prepare for the exam
Group-I
Combined Civil services CCS-I commonly referred as Group-1 services exam is conducted by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission for the posts like Deputy collector (DC), Deputy Superintendent of police (DSP), District Registrar (DR), Assistant Commissioner (C.T.), Assistant Director (A.D) of Rural development etc., To become Deputy collector or Group-1 service office, candidates need to go through 3 stages process (Preliminary exam, Main Exam, Interview/Personality test). H-GROUP I

Prelims
It is a screening test conducted to assess the knowledge, aptitude of aspirants. Prelim exam consists of paper of objective type. The marks obtained by a candidate in the prelims who qualifies to the mains exam will not be be taken in account to determine their final merit.

Candidate has to apply for the CCS-I exam in order to appear in prelim exam (See how to apply below)
To Crack through Prelims, Aspirants has to go through the syllabus (Degree-Standard) prescribed by TNPSC. Once familiar with the syllabus, aspirants has to go through all previous year general studies questions conducted by TNPSC, not just Group-1 prelims but also Group-II/IIA,IV, VAO, High Court, Engineering Services and other exam’s General studies question paper. Subject wise segregation of past two years question paper can be found below. After Socializing with the exam, Aspirants has to go through the sources books to find the source/areas of questions. The notification and application form are usually made available online about 4 months (100-110 days) before the preliminary TNPSC examinations. It is final test in candidate assessment. Candidates who qualify the TNPSC Group-1 Main Exam will move to the next and final phase called ‘Personality Test/Interview & Record’ who will be interviewed by a Board who will have candidates resume. marks obtained by a candidate has weightage in their final merit.
As per TNPSC 2019 group-1 notification , Interview and Record carries weightage of 90 marks.
Candidate qualified in Main exam will be called for certificate verification. After this process, TNPSC announces list of candidate qualified to appear in Interview. Candidate has to go through current affairs by involving them in discussions on local, district, state, national and international issues, and questions related to candidates education, native location etc.,

The Oral Test is an assessment test of the attitude and personality of the individual.
It is final test in candidate assessment. It is classified as a subordinate service of assistant rank. The qualification for this examination is graduation. Teachers Recruitment Board
This examination is exclusively for the recruitment of Teachers. About TET: Teaching is always a coveted profession and lakhs of aspirants willing teaching jobs take TET exam in Tamil Nadu every year. As according to the new rules laid down on the 23rd August 2010, the minimum qualifications of a teacher have been clearly defined. TET stands for Teacher Eligibility Test. Candidates has to clear at least one TET paper to be able to teach a government recognized school.

TET is a compulsory examination for all the B.Ed. qualified candidates to be considered for teacher jobs in schools run by the government and private managements.The TET paper 1 is for those who are seeking appointment as Secondary Grade Teacher for classes I to VI. A TET certificate is issued to only those candidates who are deemed eligible and an issued certificate is valid for 7 years from the date of issue.
- How to Apply
Candidates may be facilitated to apply online for this examination. All candidates are allowed to undertake the TET 1 examination only if they have all required qualification for a Secondary Grade Teacher. As per 2013 notification, Applications can be purchased from all the Head Masters of Government Higher Secondary Schools, on payment of Rs. 50/- in cash towards the cost of Application Form and Prospectus. The filled-in Application Form and the TRB Copy of the Fees Payment Challan must be put inside the envelope provided and submitted in person in the Office of the District Educational Officer

Exam Pattern The TET paper 1 has 150 Multiple Choice Questions. The language of the question paper is either Tamil or English and that depends upon the preference of the candidate.All the candidates who score above 55% in the TET Paper 1 are considered eligible and hence called for Certificate verification; this eventually means a verification of academic qualifications and a personal interview.

TET is a compulsory examination for all the B.Ed. qualified candidates to be considered for teacher jobs in schools run by the government and private managements.Candidates aspiring for higher classes (VI to X) have to clear the TET paper II. Only graduate teachers are eligible for appearing for the TET paper 2.(as on 2013 notification).The candidates should have a Graduation degree in Art or Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed).). The recognized subjects include English, Tamil, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History, Geography etc. even a B. Litt degree is valid as long as it is in any of the allied subjects mentioned before.
